Press Play on 2021

We’re coming back, and we need your help to get there!

In a year when the Playhouse commemorated 90 years of theater-making, COVID-19 forced us to press pause on all of the wonderful productions and programs we were to have brought to the stage in 2020, jeopardizing the Playhouse’s operations and stability are greatly jeopardized.

For those who have generously donated to our survival fund, thank you for your support, your patience, hope, and faith, and most of all your steadfast love of theater. Together, we’ve almost made it through this very challenging year.

The impact of the pandemic on the performing arts industry and the Playhouse has been staggering — to our audience, our staff, and the artists that are the lifeblood of the theater. We’ve missed it so. We created some innovative programs to stay together this year, and for 2021 we are committed to bringing audiences and artists back for five theatrical experiences, new and inclusive educational programming, and a renewed feeling of community.

The coming months will continue to be precarious for the theater and for the world, and yet I urge you to look forward, not back. Let’s make theater together. It may be different than before, but it will be resilient, beautiful, and will uplift our souls. With your support, the  Playhouse will keep providing theater, inspiration, and the opportunities to learn, reflect, and grow.

With gratitude,

Anna Czekaj-Farber
