Allen Gilmore he/him

Allen is a forty-year veteran of the regional stage. He has created roles in Argonautika by Mary Zimmerman, Objects in the Mirror by Charles Smith, and Man in the Ring by Michael Cristopher. He has worked frequently with celebrated directors Bartlett Sher, Christopher Bayes, Carl Cofield, Robert Falls, and the late Michael Langham. He recently completed the run of Choir Boy at Yale Rep under the direction of Christopher D. Betts, and in July he will reprise the role of Malvolio in Twelfth Night,  directed by Cofield at the Classical Theater of Harlem. Allen has been nominated for many awards including AuDelCo, Connecticut Critics Circle, Broadway World, St. Louis Critics Circle, Black Theater Alliance, and Jefferson awards. He is a recipient of the 2015 3Arts Award, the 2019 Nicholas Ruddal Prize, and he is a 2015 Lunt-Fontanne/Ten Chimneys Fellow. Originally from Houston, TX, Allen is a U.S. Army infantry veteran and a proud ensemble member of Congo Square Theater Company in Chicago.
